My original background is a fine art portrait photography. I make portraits to extract the sitters' natures during the session through the 5x4 camera. I produce prints to control the colours mixing cyan, magenta and yellow to get the perfect combination of colours. There is the only one answer for the colour of the print. But for pottery there are a lot of different kinds of answers for the colours. I enjoy the combination of mixing colours. My techniques are pinched pots and coiled pots to create an original and unique work of art for everyday life. I use pieces of lace to get patterns on the surface of clay and push them into mouldings then draw some nature plants on front or back of the works . I am inspired the Japanese four seasons as I have grown up in a country side, surrounded in mountains, rivers, ponds, different kinds of trees and plants. I always felt the seasons changing in nature. I think of the scenery while creating my pottery.

Photography

I use the 5x4 camera with the negative film. I like the time to set up the camera and load the film, which makes my mind calm before taking a portrait. This is also the precious moment to build up a relationship between a sitter and I through the camera.
